How To Make a Volcano

Making a lava spewing volcano at home is a great fun. But the question arises, how to make a volcano? The answer to this is as simple as enjoying the creativity of arts.

Below are some instructions on how to make volcano and enjoy the fun of making eye catching projects.

Things required to make a volcano are empty bottle, acrylic paints or spray, sealant, baking soda, liquid dish soap, white vinegar, brushes, paper mache, plywood sheet, newspaper and red food coloring.

Firstly, take a plywood sheet of about 8 inches wider and longer than the desired size of your volcano. This plywood will make the base of the volcano and will prevent staining of surface due to eruptions. After that, use salt dough, paper mache or plaster to make a paper mache or plaster volcano and place it around a 2 liter bottle. Place the bottle in an upright position at the center of the plywood base. Remove the lid of the bottle.

Once you have make a volcano, using a sharp instrument make ridges and channels at the top of the volcano and continue till the bottom, making a path for lava to flow through. After completely drying the volcano, paint it with acrylics or spray paints and then spray with a clear sealant.

Finally, when the volcano is completely made, mix 1 tbsp. baking soda, 1 tbsp. liquid dish washing soap and few drops of red food coloring in a cup to form the lava. Pour this mixture into the open bottle placed on the base of the volcano. Set your volcano in an open area and pour 1/4 c. of white vinegar.
